Sorone Batiste and John Watkins recorded top-10 finishes as the Prairie View A&M men's cross country team placed third at the 2013 SWAC Cross Country Championships held at Choctaw Trails in Clinton Miss. on Monday.

This year's championship came down to the wire as Batiste finished nine seconds behind the top finisher with a time of 26:37.62.  Watkins placed eighth with a time of 27:36.36 followed by Abel Simie with an 11^th-place run of 27:44.87.

Batiste closed out the season with a spot on the All-SWAC First team while Watkins earned second team honors.
