Prairie View A&M will be represented on the national stage today as former standout Adrian Hamilton will participate in his first career Super Bowl as a member of the Baltimore Ravens.
The SWAC's single-season and all-time school record-holder in sacks, Hamilton began his NFL career with the Dallas Cowboys in the spring and had a solid preseason before being released by the Cowboys prior to the regular season. Before the Cowbous could resign him, the Ravens swooped in and signed Hamilton to their practice sqaud. The Dallas native stepped onto the gridiron as a member of the active squad late in the regular season and logged one tackle while playing special teams.
The Panthers also added another player to their NFL ledger as former defensive end Quinton Spears inked with the Indianpolis Colts on Dec. 31. Spears began his career with the Miami Dolphins in 2011 before signing with Cleveland. He spent the 2011 season on the Browns' active roster and recorded 8 tackles.
