BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - With only two weeks to the SWAC Indoor Championships, several members of the Prairie View A&M women's track team continued to drop times as they ran at the Samford Multi & Invitational last weekend at the Birmingham Crossplex.
Freshman Constance Jacob set a collegiate best in the 3,000-meter run with a time of 11:14.41 while Martha Bustamante ran a season-low mark in the 5,000. Essence Moss set a personal-best in the 60-meter hurdles with a mark of 9.16 followed by Jada Curbeam's season-best jump of 5-3 in the high jump.
The mile relay quartet of Sylvonna Thompson, Ugonna Okpala, Monique Green and Kelsi Alexander also ran its lowest time of the season as they finished with a mark of 3:54.14.
The Lady Panthers return to action this weekend in the Houston Tune Up at the University of Houston on Friday, Feb. 14.
