Evans L. White was an accomplished track and field athlete, earning 1978 All-American honors, PVAMU Most Valuable, Most Outstanding (1978-1979), 1 out of 4 Relay team members to win 3 College Division Relay titles in the 1978 Drake Relays, 1978-1979 800 NCAA Division 12 Indoor Championship, 1978 800m NCAA Division II Outdoor Championship; 3 times NAIA 800 yd Indoor Champion; and 1977-1979 3-time NAIA Outdoor 800.

He is currently retired and enjoys spending time with his wife, Rosalyn, and two sons who both graduated from PVAMU.
