The spring season for the Prairie View A&M men's tennis team kicked off last Saturday as they dropped a 5-0 decision to nationally ranked Rice University in a rain-shortened match.
Senior Kuda Nyatoti dropped a 6-1, 6-0 decision to Harry Fowler at No.1 singles while sophomore Kris Powell fell 6-2, 6-1 to Sam Bles at No. 3. Sophomore Craig Wiltz lost 6-1, 6-0 to Isamu Tachibana at No. 4 while Jamaal James and Camrhen Harris dropped 6-0, 6-0 and 6-0, 6-1 matches at No. 5 and 6, respectively. Ronald Chidzikwe didn't finish his match at No. 2 but was down 6-1, 4-1 before the rain.
The Panthers return to action on Friday, Feb. 11 as they'll open their newly renovated courts with matches versus Texas-San Antonio and Xavier University.
