Prairie View A&M steps back into SWAC play this weekend as they close out its month-and-a-half long road swing at Alcorn State on Saturday afternoon in Alcorn State, Miss. at 2 p.m.  With only two regular season games left, Saturday's game is extra important as the Panthers need a win in order to remain in the hunt for a SWAC West Divisional title and a berth in next month's league championship game.  The Panthers are coming off a hard-fought 34-26 loss to Texas State on Nov. 5 but found several positives as they played much better than the previous weekend versus Jackson State in Shreveport, La.

Saturday's matchup marks the sixth and final road trip for the Panthers as the team hasn't played at home since Sept. 24.  Prairie View A&M has won the past four meetings versus Alcorn State including two straight at Casem-Spinks Stadium.  Another storyline in Saturday's game is the reunion of ASU head coach Melvin Spears and PV head coach Heishma Northern.  Both were on staff at Grambling State from 1998 to 2004 with Northern and Spears both assistant coaches from 1998 to 2003.  In 2004, Spears was elevated to head coach at Grambling State with Northern on staff.

 The contest will be broadcasted live by KPVU 91.3 FM beginning at 1:30 p.m.
