Football Panthers To Face Bethune-Cookman in MEAC/SWAC Challenge

Panther Football To Kick Off Live This Sunday On ESPN

Kickoff Is Slated To Begin at 11 a.m. on ESPN this Sunday

The Prairie View A&M Panthers have officially landed in Orlando, Fla. and are busy preparing for their 2011 season opener on Sunday as the Prairie View A&M Panthers battle Bethune-Cookman University in the 7th edition of the MEAC/SWAC Challenge at the Citrus Bowl in Orlando, Fla. The contest will be televised nationally by ESPN and broadcasted live on KPVU 91.3 FM at 11 a.m. CST.

Prairie View A&M University had an offseason full of changes beginning with the departure of head coach Henry Frazier III in December of 2010.  Longtime defensive coordinator Heishma Northern took over the reigns and begins his first year as head coach.  As a team, the Panthers went through a lot of changes personnel wise from the offensive scheme to the amount of experience as they return four starters offensively and five defensively.

Sunday's game marks the first time ever the Panthers will play on ESPN.
