BOX SCORE
The Prairie View A&M volleyball team picked up its first win of the season in convincing fashion, sweeping Grambling State in three sets Tuesday night in the Baby Dome.
Led by Breanna McNeil, who finished with seven kills, Prairie View battled through an up-and-down first set and went up 1-0 after a Grambling service error and service ace by Bruna Menezes gave the Lady Panthers the edge, 28-26.
The Lady Panthers (1-12, 1-0 SWAC) handled the next two sets with ease, pummeling Grambling 25-15 and 25-11 in its SWAC opener.
Prairie View found its stride in Set 2 and Set 3, punishing Grambling for each of its 23 errors and tightening up defensively. McNeil and Jasmine Houston (three kills) had 11 and 10 digs respectively.
Looking to stay on the winning side of things in conference play, Prairie View will host Arkansas-Pine Bluff at 1 p.m. this Saturday in the Baby Dome.
