The Prairie View A&M women's team will close out their homestand Monday evening as they'll host Arkansas-Pine Bluff beginning at 5 p.m. in the William J. Nicks Building.
The Lady Panthers have found their groove as they've won three of the last four contests. They're coming off an impressive 61-56 win over first-place Mississippi Valley State on Saturday evening in which junior Latia Williams pulled down her sixth double-double of the year with 18 points and 12 rebounds. Kiara Etienne, whose averaging a team-high 14.1 points, scored 11 points in the winning effort.
Prairie View A&M has dominated the series over UAPB dating back to 2004 as they're 15-3 during that span. The Lady Panthers claimed both meetings against UAPB last season and nearly cracked the 100-point mark in a 99-38 home win over the Lady Lions on Feb. 21, 2011.
All of Prairie View A&M's SWAC contests will be broadcasted live on KPVU 91.3 FM with Leonard Moon calling the action. The station can be heard via the airwaves or Internet at www.pvamu.edu/kpvu. The Lady Panthers will travel to Alabama next weekend to face Alabama State on Saturday, Jan. 28 at 3 p.m. in Montgomery, Ala. before wrapping up the trip at Alabama A&M in Huntsville, Ala. on Monday, Jan.30 at 5:30 p.m. Prairie View's next home game will take place on Saturday, Feb. 4 as they'll face SWAC rival TSU in a 5:30 p.m. doubleheader.
