PINE BLUFF, Ark. - Prairie View A&M bounced back from a disappointing loss to rival Texas Southern on Wednesday night with a convincing 3-0 win over Arkansas-Pine Bluff Friday night in Pine Bluff, Ark.
The Lady Panthers finished with a .310 attack percentage en route to a 25-19, 25-17, 26-24 victory in which senior outside hitter Breanna McNeil recorded her third consecutive game with double-digit kills. She finished with a game-high 10 kills and had a .258 attack percentage.
Junior setter Kelsey Espinosa finished with 31 assists. Freshman outside Charae Caldwell (four kills, .375 attack percentage), sophomore middle Amelia Velez (five kills, .400 attack percentage) and junior outside hitter Bruna Menezes (seven kills, .294 attack percentage) efficiently took advantage of their setter's passing.
Defensively, junior setter Monecia Preston led the way for Prairie View A&M. She had a game-high 11 digs, followed by sophomore libero LaKeisha Allen's nine digs.
The Lady Panthers return home for a rematch against Texas Southern at 7 p.m. on Tuesday in the William Nicks Building. The game will be streamed live on Panthervision.
