Prairie View A&M Volleyball Takes Down Texas Southern

They had payback on their minds after two-consecutive losses to their rivals, and Lady Panthers exacted revenge on Texas Southern by picking a 3-1 (win Tuesday night at home in the William Nicks Building. 

Prairie View A&M senior outside hitter Breanna McNeil recorded a career-high 25 kills, which included 10 clutch kills in the fourth set of the match. The Panthers held a two games to one lead heading into the fourth set after dropping the third game in dramatic 25-22 fashion. Texas Southern looked to have the momentum in the fourth set too, holding as much as a 18-14 lead late into the game.

However, Prairie View A&M decided kick it into overdrive and outscored the Lady Tigers 11-to-3 to close out the match. McNeil put down five of her 25 kills during that devastating run by the Panthers. She also finished with a .404 attack percentage, proving to be efficient with her hits.

Senior setter Kelsey Espinosa, finished with a double-double as her 48 assists and 10 digs performance was critical in Prairie View A&M's 3-1win over the Lady Tigers to create separation in the Southwestern Athletic Conference Western Division. Prairie View A&M (9-18) improved to 5-1 in the SWAC after the victory while Texas Southern (9-12) dropped to 3-2. 

Prairie View will host Southwestern Christian College at 5 p.m. on Monday Oct. 22 in the William Nicks Building before hosting SWAC West division opponent Southern at 7 p.m. on Thursday. Both games will be streamed live on Panthervision.
