Lady Panthers Volleyball To Face Alabama A&M On Sunday

After dropping a 3-1 match to Mississippi Valley State to open up the Southwestern Athletic Conference Tournament, Prairie View A&M bounced back with a 3-0 win over Arkansas-Pine Bluff and then a 3-0 win MVSU to advance to the semi-final round.

The Lady Panthers will face Alabama A&M at 9 a.m. on Sunday in Jackson, Miss. in a win-or-go-home scenario, as they already have one loss in the double elimination tournament. 

Breanna McNeil led the Lady Panthers attack in their 3-0 quarterfinal win over Mississippi Valley State. She had a team-high 11 kills and a .276 attack percentage. She was set up multiple times by junior setter Kelsey Espinosa, who finished with 30 assists and four kills. 

In the Lady Panthers 3-0 win over UAPB to advance to the quarterfinal round McNeil again showed up in a big way. She put down 16 kills with a .220 attack percentage. Junior middle blocker Amelia Velez also joined in on the kill party, putting down 10 against the Golden Lions. Espinosa dished out 37 assists and had six digs.

Sophomore LaKeisha Allen led the Lady Panthers with 16 digs.
