PV Volleyball Season Ends In Jackson, Espinosa And McNeil Honored

The No. 1 seeded Prairie View A&M volleyball team was eliminated in the semifinal round of the Southwestern Athletic Conference Tournament after suffering a 3-0 loss to Alabama A&M on Sunday in Jackson, Miss.

The Lady Panthers, who finished the season with a 14-21 (7-1 SWAC) record, struggled against Alabama A&M as they lost 25-18, 25-16, 25-15 to end their season. After the loss, Prairie View A&M learned that junior setter Kelsey Espinosa and senior outside hitter Breanna McNeil were named to the SWAC All-Tournament team. 

Espinosa, the eight-time defending SWAC Newcomer of the Week, finished the tournament with 136 assists in four matches, averaging 10 assists per game to lead all setters in the tournament.

Breanna McNeil didn't finish off her career at Prairie View A&M as a SWAC Tournament Champion, but she was selected to the All-Tournament team for the first time in her four-year career. McNeil ended the tournament with 49 kills in four matches. She averaged 3.8 kills per game for the Lady Panthers in her last stand.
