Lady Panthers Struggle Offensively Against UNT

DENTON-The Prairie View A&M volleyball team fell to 2-10 after a 3-0 loss to North Texas Wednesday night in Denton. The Lady Panthers dropped the match 25-13, 25-12, 25-12.

Prairie View A&M saw its offensive struggles continue with a -.034 attack percentage for the match. Senior outside hitters Breanna McNeil and Bruna Menezes led the Lady Panthers with five kills each. Sophomore middle Amelia Velez also added five.

Junior setter Kelsey Espinosa, who won her second-consecutive SWAC Newcomer Of The Week award, kept up her pace with 17 assists for Prairie View A&M's 23 total kills.  

Despite those efforts, the Mean Green took commanding leads in each set of the match thanks to Carnae Dillard (10 kills, .368 percentage) and Courtney Windham (seven kills, .545 percentage). North Texas setter May Allen led her team in assists as the Mean Green improved to 10-4.

The Lady Panthers' next official match will be against Lehigh at 4:30 p.m. Friday in Fort Worth as they participate in the Molten Invitational on the Texas Christian University campus. Prairie View A&M will play in an exhibition match against Southwestern Christian College Thursday at 1 p.m. in Terrell, Texas.
