Prairie View A&M fans heading to Beaumont, Texas to cheer on the Panthers this weekend will have plenty to do as a variety of PV-related events are scheduled to take place.

The Prairie View A&M Department of Athletics will host a golf tournament on Friday morning at Brentwood Country Club (4201 South Major Drive) in Beaumont.  The tourney, which is sponsored by Conn's, will benefit athletic initiatives at Prairie View A&M University.  The event will feature an 8 a.m. shotgun start with a 7 a.m. registration time.  The tourney fee is $100 and includes a golf cart and green fees.  Please call (936) 261-9111 or (409) 651-5908 for more information.

On Friday night at 8 p.m., the Prairie View A&M Young Alumni will host a mixer at the Holiday Inn located off of 3950 I-10 South and Walden Road.  The mixer is geared toward all PVAMU alumni, particularly those who have graduated in the past 10 years.

The following morning on Saturday, Sept. 8, Prairie View A&M University will host a breakfast at the Holiday Inn located off of 3950 I-10 South and Walden Road at 8 a.m.  Admission to the breakfast is free just by RSVPing to alumnirelations@pvamu.edu or calling (936) 261-1566.

Starting at 2 p.m. on Saturday, the Office of Alumni Relations will host a Panther Tailgate at the LIT parking lot directly across from the Lamar campus.  The tailgate is free and will run from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.

The weekend winds down on the gridiron at 7 p.m. as the Prairie View A&M Panthers battle the Lamar Cardinals at Provost Umphrey Stadium on the Lamar campus for the first time since 1985.  Tickets are available at www.PVPANTHERS.com for $16 or at the LU box office.
