Prairie View A&M and recently crowned Southwestern Athletic Conference Newcomer of the Week Candyce Alexander will host Texas Christian at 6 p.m. tonight in the William Nicks Building (The Baby Dome).

Alexander has been the go to player for Prairie View A&M offensively, averaging 11.2 kills per match in her last 10 matches. Her 3.4 kill per game average during that span is tops on the team, and her prowess was on full display last week.

The Bedford, Texas native was selected newcomer of the week for the first time on the season on Tuesday. She finished with a double-double in a 3-1 win over Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Oct. 31 with 16 kills and 13 digs. For the week she finished with 24 kills, 15 digs and three blocks.

Senior leader and team captain at setter Kelsey Espinosa, who has won SWAC Setter twice this season, and the Lady Panthers will have their hands full with a tough Big 12 opponent in TCU. The last time the teams met was in the Molten Invitational on the Horned Frogs home court on Sept. 28, 2012, which resulted in a 3-0 loss. 

TCU is in the midst of a four-game losing streak, while the Lady Panthers are 2-2 in their last four games with wins over Southern and UAPB.
