Prairie View A&M heads into its 7 p.m. match up vs. Texas Christian on Saturday more confident in its offensive ability to receive scoring from multiple players. The Lady Panthers had three players score in double figures for the first time this season in their last contest, a 90-66 loss to Central Michigan on Dec. 18.
Junior point guard Jeanette Jackson, averaging 16.7 points and 3.2 assists, got help in the form of another double-digit scorer in the same game for the first time this season. Redshirt sophomore guard Gabrielle Scott, put up a season-high 14 points to complement six rebounds. Junior forward Larissa Scott hit Central Michigan up for her first double-double of the season with 12 points, 12 rebounds and four steals. Jackson, provided 20 points and six assists.
The Lady Panthers are coming off of their highest first-half point total of the season (36 points) and will have to get off to another hot start vs. the 8-3 TCU Horned frogs if they plan on picking up their first win of the season for interim head coach Dawn Brown (0-9). TCU is outscoring opponents 72-to-55 this season, and Prairie View A&M will look to the likes of Gabrielle Scott and Larissa Scott again to help it surpass its season average of 50.7 points.
