Prairie View A&M travels east to a city that hasn't been friendly to them in the past as they prepare to face Jackson State on Saturday evening inside Mississippi Veterans Memorial Stadium at 6 p.m.

With an 0-4 mark at this point, the Panthers are off to their worst start since 2012 as the team began the year with an 0-5 mark.  The road to the SWAC Championship Game is already long as the Panthers have turned towards trying to win their first game instead of fighting for title hopes.

Jackson State has had Prairie View A&M's number for quite some time as the Panthers have not defeated the Tigers since 2007.  PVAMU also claimed a win over JSU in 2005 but prior to that, JSU claimed a 28-game winning streak from 1973 to 2004.  In addition, PVAMU also has a tough road ahead of them as they have not won a contest in Jackson, Miss. Since 1970 (44 years). In addition, Jackson State remains one of two SWAC teams head coach Heishma Northern  has yet to defeat.
