Panthers Out To End Season On Winning Note At Alabama A&M This Saturday

Prairie View A&M closes out its 2014 season this Saturday on the road in Huntsville, Ala. as the Panthers will face Alabama A&M at 1 p.m. This marks the sixth time since both teams began playing that PVAMU will close out the regular season against the Bulldogs.

The Panthers are coming off a dominating 51-23 win over Arkansas-Pine Bluff last weekend in which they piled up nearly 700 yards of offense while also dominating with eight sacks. The win kept PVAMU's hopes of finishing with a non-losing season for the second consecutive season in play and the chance for the team to close out the regular season with wins in five of its final six regular season games.

The Panthers have received a balanced performance from a variety of players as senior quarterback Jerry Lovelocke has passed for 2,106 yards and 14 touchdowns. Junior running back Johnta' Hebert is the top rusher with 935 yards per game and 10 touchdowns while senior wideouts Gabe Dunlap and Greg Thurmond have caught 44 and 38 receptions, respectively.

Defensively, senior linebacker Jerome Howard has 110 tackles, 15 tackles for loss, 7.5 sacks and two forced fumbles. Fellow senior Danny Brownell follows Howard with 86 stops, 15 tackles for loss and 4.5 sacks.

The contest will be broadcast live on KPVU 91.3 FM.
