BOX SCORE 2 FORT WORTH, Texas - The Prairie View A&M Lady Panthers volleyball team snapped a three-match losing streak Friday with a sweep of Grambling State at the TCU Nike/Molten Invitational.
The Panthers made quick work of their Southwestern Athletic Conference opponents, defeating the Tigers 25-17, 25-9, and 25-15 in only 65 minutes.
Senior
Candyce Alexander led the Panthers (2-4) with seven kills.
Jasmine Lewis and
Lenicia Tyson each knocked down six kills.
Ana Kiso handed out 20 assists, while Lewis and senior
LaKeisha Allen recorded eight digs apiece.
The Panthers took advantage of the free points given to them by Grambling (0-3), which hit -.118 for the match. The Tigers committed 27 attacking errors against only 17 kills.
Prairie View A&M, meanwhile, knocked down 32 digs collectively and hit .217 for the match.
Earlier in the day, the Panthers dropped a three-set match to Arkansas-Little Rock to open the tournament.
The Panthers return to action Saturday when they face host TCU at 11 a.m. They will conclude play at the Nike/Molten Invitational in the afternoon with a 4 p.m. match against Miami (Fla.).
