MediaWIllie Simmons Show Episode 10

• The Panthers started a key, six-game SWAC swing three weeks ago and have won three straight.  The Panthers are currently in second place in the SWAC West and will need to keep winning in order to keep their postseason hopes alive.  PVAMU has clinched a winning season for the first time since 2010.

• This marks a homecoming of sorts for PVAMU head coach Willie Simmons and defensive coordinator Ralph Street as they were on the staff at Alcorn State for the past three years.

• Alcorn State is coming off a 48-7 win over Southern last weekend in Baton Rouge, La.  ASU backup quarterback Lenorris Footman had a breakout game with 274 yards rushing in the win. Alcorn State has won the past two games over PVAMU and is averaging 59.6 points over the past three games dating back to 2012.

• PVAMU has the top offense in the SWAC at 491.3 yards per game and ranks first in scoring offense with 45 points per game while ASU averages 39.3 points per game and 464.0 total offensive yards.

• PVAMU junior KhaDarel Hodge has emerged as a legitimate No. 1 wideout for the Panthers as he's the reigning SWAC Newcomer of the Week after logging 104 yards on six receptions versus UAPB last weekend.

Trey Green ranks second in the SWAC with a 291.6 yards per game passing average and 18 touchdowns.  Running back Johnta' Hebert ranks fourth in rushing with 73.1 yards per game.

• The Panthers play eight games inside the state of Texas and are leaving the state for just the second time this season.

• Five players were named to the 2015 All-SWAC Preseason Team while Prairie View A&M was picked third in the SWAC West in the annual SWAC Preseason Poll.
