HUNTSVILLE, Texas – Tulane denied the Lady Panthers of Prairie View A&M their first victory of the season as the Green Wave claimed a three-set win Saturday morning at the Bearkat Volleyball Invitational.

Scores of the match were 25-13, 25-14, and 25-11.

Sarah Ray knocked down 13 kills for the Green Wave, while teammate Tea Juric added 11 kills and a .500 hitting percentage to lead Tulane, which one its first match of the season.

Jasmine Lewis and
Mykaeli Franklin knocked down three kills apiece for the Lady Panthers (0-3).
Ana Kiso,
MoKeysha Shanklin, and
Marissa Campbell registered two kills each for Prairie View A&M.

Kiso handed out 11 assists and served the Lady Panthers only two aces in the contest. She and
Sydney Walker also led the PVAMU defense with six digs apiece.

Tulane hit .392 for the match, while holding the Lady Panthers to a negative percentage; Prairie View A&M hit -.092 against the Green Wave, knocking down 14 kills while committing 21 errors. It was the first time the Lady Panthers tallied a negative percentage in a match since Sept. 20, 2013, against Cal State–Bakersfield.

The Lady Panthers conclude play at Bearkat Volleyball Invitational at 2 p.m. Saturday when they face Montana State out of the Big Sky Conference.
