Special to PVPanthers.comPRAIRIE VIEW, Texas – The Prairie View A&M Lady Panthers volleyball team lost a tough match in an exciting home opener of the 2015 season to the Huskies of Houston Baptist University (4-0).

The game was over within three sets with scores of 25-18, 27-25, and 25-18.

Fans were on the edge of their seats during the entire match of the game, but especially in the second set. The Lady Panthers and the Huskies battled back and forth between each other; each team trying to gain that edge. The second set saw 12 tie scores and 3 lead changes. Near the end of the set, the Lady Panthers were able to rally back and tie the set at 25.

The Huskies were led by sophomore outside hitter Bailey Banks, who ended the night with a match-high of 20 kills on 28 attacks, seven digs and one block, while junior outside hitter Jessica Wooten had 14 kills, 14 digs, and three blocks..

Freshman
Marissa Campbell was the star of the night for the Lady Panthers. The 5-foot-9 outside hitter showed her passion with a team high performance of 14 points
 – 12 kills and three total blocks.
Randi Hunter had five kills, while
MoKeysha Shanklin added four kills for the night. Setter
Ana Kiso handed out 22 assists and tallied seven digs.

The Lady Panthers will be back in action Friday when they take part in the Delta Zeta Classic in San Marcos, Texas. First serve against Texas State is scheduled for noon.
