• The Panthers prepare for a huge SWAC Western Division showdown versus Grambling State at the Cotton Bowl on Saturday afternoon at 4 p.m. in Dallas.

• The Willie Simmons era makes its home debut as the Panthers will face Alabama A&M on Saturday. The Panthers are on a two-game winning streak over AAMU dating back to 2013.

• The inside track to the SWAC West race comes early in the season as Prairie View A&M faces Grambling State. Both teams enter Saturday's game undefeated in league play.

• Saturday's game marks the 69th meeting in series history as GSU leads 49-18-1. PVAMU is 4-2 over GSU dating back to 2009. Prior to 2009, PVAMU's last win over GSU occurred in 1986.
