NACOGDOCHES, Texas – The Prairie View A&M Lady Panthers were unable to capitalize on their first appearance this season on ESPN3 Tuesday as they fell in straight sets to Stephen F. Austin.
The Ladyjacks won the match by scores of 25-9, 25-14, and 25-17.
Jacque Allen knocked down a match-high 12 kills to lead the Ladyjacks (10-8). Her teammates Haley Coleman and Justice Walker notched 11 kills apiece.
Christen Augustine led the Lady Panthers (0-15) with seven kills, giving the freshman a new collegiate best.
Sydney Walker added six kills for Prairie View A&M.
Kira Kirkham led the Prairie View A&M defensive effort with 10 digs to along with her four kills. Senior setter
Ana Kiso handed out 19 assists for the Lady Panthers.
Paige Chuidian tallied eight digs.
The Lady Panthers had a positive hitting percentage in each of the match's three sets, marking the first time they have done that since their home opener against Houston Baptist on Sept. 1.
Prairie View A&M returns to action Thursday when they host Texas A&M–Corpus Christi. First serve is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
