JACKSON, Miss. -- The Prairie View A&M Lady Panthers conclude their stretch of three consecutive road games Monday when they visit Jackson State. Tipoff is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
The Lady Panthers (5-8) go into tonight's game seeking to snap a three-game losing streak after falling in overtime Saturday at Grambling State by a score of 69-66. Prairie View A&M is 1-3 in Southwestern Athletic Conference play.
Jackson State (9-7, 3-2 SWAC) won its first three conference games, but have dropped their last two to Southern and Texas Southern, two teams that have also defeated the Lady Panthers in the first round of league play. The Lady Tigers' 9-7 record is the best overall mark in the conference, but three of their four non-conference wins came against NAIA competition.
Prairie View A&M head coach
Dawn Brown is a 2005 graduate of Jackson State. In her previous two seasons at the helm of the Lady Panthers, she is 2-2 against her alma mater, and seeks her first victory over the Lady Tigers at the Lee E. Williams Athletics and Assembly Center.
Since the start of the NCAA's women's basketball era in the 1981-82 season, the Lady Tigers of Jackson State lead the all-time series with Prairie View A&M 59-19.
