The Prairie View A&M University volleyball team lost a hard-fought four-set match to Texas Southern Thursday night at the William J. Nicks Babydome.

The Lady Panthers fell 22-25, 25-23, 14-25, 25-27 in front of raucous, enthusiastic crowd for #pvpackthehouse.
Taylor Goudeau had 24 kills and a career-high 16 digs,
Mykaeli Franklin had 25 assists and seven digs,
Christen Augustine had 26 digs as Prairie View A&M (8-14 overall, 7-5 SWAC) saw an three-game winning streak snapped.

Calli Jordan Hensch added a career-high 17 kills and
Randi Hunter had 14 kills for the Lady Panthers.

In a match with 23 ties and 13 lead changes, the two rivals brought out spirited play in the other in their third meeting of the season. After TSU (15-9, 11-1) took set one, PVAMU battled through nine ties and four lead changes to take the second set. The Lady Panthers trailed 7-3 early in the set, but a kill by Jordan Hensch sparked a rally in which PVAMU eventually took a 15-11 lead.

TSU battled back to tie the match and eventually took the lead, 20-19.However, a kill by Hunter began a stretch of four ties in the final moments. A kill by Goudeau broke a 23-all tie, and her service ace closed out set two.

After the Lady Tigers won set three, the teams saved arguably their best for last with nine ties and six lead changes in the fourth set alone. Prairie View A&M battled back from an 18-13 deficit, chipping away to tie the score and then take the lead with a serve for the set, but was unable to close it out.

The Lady Panthers open a four-game road trip at Alabama State next Friday, Nov. 4.
