Prairie View A&M won a pair of two-point contests at home last week, the latest a 66-64 come-from-behind win over Bethune-Cookman Saturday afternoon. The Lady Panthers trailed by as many as 22 points in the third quarter before outscoring B-CU 49-25 over the final 18+ minutes.
Â
Dominique Newman scored all 18 of her points during the run on a barrage of three pointers, making six of seven from beyond the arc to spark the run.
Â
SMU is coming off a 76-67 loss at nearby rival TCU. The Lady Mustangs are also under a first-year coach, as Travis Mays took over the program this spring. SMU has posted wins over Texas State (64-56) and at Kansas (75-63).
