PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas – The Prairie View A&M Lady Panthers close out the home portion of their schedule Monday when they host the Lady Bulldogs of Alabama A&M. Tipoff is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.

The Lady Panthers (12-12, 8-7 SWAC) ran their winning streak to three games Saturday with an exciting, 63-60 win over Alabama State. PVAMU trailed by as many as 14 points midway through the third quarter, but rallied in the early stages of the fourth quarter to claim its first win over Alabama State since 2014.

Lamaria Cole leads the Lady Panthers in scoring with an average of 15.8 points per contest, which also ranks third in the Southwestern Athletic Conference. She leads the SWAC in assists, handing out 3.8 per game. The senior guard from Bryan, Texas, won her third Player of the Week award from the SWAC on Wednesday after leading PVAMU during its 2-0 road trip last weekend. Cole averaged 24.5 points per game and shot 60.6 percent from the field last week.

Senior forward Larissa Scott averages 11.7 points and a SWAC-leading 10.3 rebounds per game for the Lady Panthers. She posted her ninth double-double of the season Saturday against Alabama State, scoring 18 points and pulling in 14 rebounds. Scott's 4.7 offensive rebounds per game ranks second in the nation.

The Lady Panthers aim for their third consecutive season sweep of Alabama A&M (4-21, 3-12 SWAC), which enters Monday's game in ninth place in the SWAC standings. Alabama A&M is one of three SWAC teams against which Prairie View A&M head coach Dawn Brown has an undefeated record.

Prairie View A&M leads the all-time series with the Lady Bulldogs 21-14; the series dates back to the 1998-99 season, when Alabama A&M left the NCAA's Division II and the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference to join the SWAC.

The Lady Bulldogs are led by 5-foot-11 senior Janie Myles, who averages team-high averages of 13.6 points and 7.7 rebounds per game. Alabama A&M will look to snap a four-game losing streak.

Tonight's game will mark the final home contests for seniors Cole, Scott, Monique Abbs, and Taylor Overshown.
