WACO, Texas – The Prairie View A&M Panthers became pretty familiar with the Baylor Bears after playing three consecutive team matches with their hosts at the Hurd Tennis Center in Waco.
 
The Bears, ranked No. 18 nationally in the Men's NCAA Division I rankings by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association, won all three matches. Baylor won by scores of 7-0, 6-1, and 4-0.
 
Freddy Quintero took Prairie View A&M's lone win Monday, defeating Sam May in straight sets by scores of 6-3, 6-3 in the second match of the day. Quintero's straight-set win came in flight five.
 
Other highlights for the Panthers included a strong showing by Christian Waldron in flight one singles play of the second match. Waldron took five games from the nation's 17th-ranked player, Julian Lenz, before falling 6-1, 6-4.
 
The Panthers return to Southwestern Athletic Conference play this weekend when they visit Montgomery, Ala., for the second weekend of the SWAC Roundup.
