Tennis Teams Fall at Texas A&M Corpus Christi

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas. – The Prairie View A&M University tennis teams lost at Texas Corpus Christi Wednesday.

The men's team played a double header falling 5-1 (singles only) and 7-0. The women's team also fell 7-0.

In the men's game one, PVAMU's #6 Zachary Suico posted a 4-6, 6-4, 10-4 singles win over Mitchell Cook. In game two, #2 Xavier Lawrence was able to force a third set against William Mottet, as he responded from an 8-5 loss in the second a 6-4 win in the first set. With the outcome of the dual, they played a tie-breaker in which Mottet won 10-3.

On the women's side Stacy Lackey, Shaddae Findley, and Timara Maxwell each won games.

The men's team will host St. Edwards on Saturday, Feb. 4 in a 1:30 p.m. match at the PVAMU Tennis Courts, while also on Saturday, the women's team travel to Nachogdoches, Texas to face Northeastern State at 9 a.m. and then take on host team Stephen F. Austin for a 3 p.m. competition.
