11/2/2018 11:03:00 PM

HOUSTON – The Prairie View A&M bowling team sits in 11th place out of 18 of some of the nation's best at the Track Kat Klash hosted by Sam Houston State at the Emerald Bowl in Houston.

"Although we are in 11th place we didn't play as bad as our record says (0-4)," said head PVAMU bowling coach Glenn White.  "We bowled two top 10 teams and two other top 15 teams.  The tournament is based on pin count instead of wins and losses."

Prairie View tallied a total pin count of 4,316 averaging 172.6 per game.

Match one of the baker matches saw the Lady Panthers fall to #16 ranked University of Alabama Birmingham (UAB) 909-815, before dropping the nest match to #4 ranked Sam Houston 927-904.

In match three, the Lady Panthers fell to #17 ranked La. Tech 1,017-884, then PVAMU dropped its final match to #6 ranked Stephen F. Austin in close contest 941-877 to close out the day.

Prairie View will face Southern Saturday morning for a 9:30 a.m., first roll in traditional play, before facing SWAC defending champs Alabama State.  Then the Lady Panthers will face #3 ranked Nebraska, before wrapping up the day against #23 Monmouth.
