Prairie View A&M and Texas Southern will renew their football rivalry Saturday at 1 p.m. at Panther Stadium.

The game can be viewed online starting with pregame festivities at pvpanthers.com/tsugame starting at 12:30 p.m. as Panther football seniors will be honored starting at that time. Also, at the end of the first quarter, PVAMU football players from 1989-98 will be honored for their contributions to the program. The 1998 team defeated to Langston 14-12 on Sept. 25, 1998 to end an 80-game losing streak. Since that time, no PVAMU football team has had a winless season, and, since the beginning of the 2007, Prairie View A&M has the second most wins in the SWAC.

PVAMU has won the last three meetings against Texas Southern, including a 30-16 win in the 2017 season finale for both teams. This is the second straight year the teams will play on Thanksgiving Weekend. The rivalry is scheduled to return to Labor Day Weekend in 2019 at Texas Southern.

The Panthers (4-6) are coming off a 66-13 home win over Alabama State. PVAMU scored touchdowns on eight of its first nine possessions in gaining 673 total yards.
Jalen Morton accounted for six touchdowns, passing for 290 yards and four touchdowns while rushing for 196 yards and two touchdowns. It was Morton's second six-touchdown game of the season, as he rushed for a school-record tying four touchdowns while passing for two others in a 62-13 win at Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Sept. 22.

Texas Southern (2-8) lost is home finale last Saturday in a 15-10 defeat to Arkansas-Pine Bluff. WR Bobby Hartzog is tied for the conference lead in receptions (56), leads the league in receiving yards (1,020), and is tied for the SWAC lead in touchdown receptions (seven) in only eight games played.
