PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas – The Prairie View A&M women's basketball team is set to host Rice Saturday in the PVAMU Recreation Center.
The game can be viewed at pvpanthers.com/live.
The Panthers along with PVAMU's SAAC (Student Athletic Advisory Committee) will be hosting its annual Toy Drive and are asking fans to bring unwrapped toys to the game.
"We are looking for support from our fans Saturday as far as the game as well as the toy drive," said head PVAMU women's basketball coach
Sandy Pugh. "We are facing another good team and we need to come into the game focused. We can't deviate from what we are supposed to be doing. We did that in the game against UTRGV. If we play like we did against Corpus Christi, we should be fine."
The Panthers enter Saturday's contest with a 3-2 record. As a team, PVAMU is ranked second in field-goal percentage defense at 29.4 percent. They are averaging 77.8 ppg and went 1-1 during the UTRGV Tournament, defeating the Islanders of Texas A&M Corpus Christi 67-59 after falling to host team UTRGV 57-50 on Friday.
