CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – In double header action for Prairie View A&M, the men's tennis team dropped both of their matches to Texas A&M Corpus Christi 6-0 and 5-1. 

The women's team also played the Islanders, falling in their match 4-0.  In a rescheduled match, the Lady Panthers faced TAMU-Kingsville in the evening matchup, dropping that match 5-1.

In women's action the Lady Panthers ended their day falling 5-1 to TAMU-Kingsville.  The team of Neharika Rama and Constanza Aranguiz posted the win in doubles at the No. 1 position 8-3 over the Javelina's duo Victoria Romanovskaia and Valeria Ruiz.

Aranguiz fell in three sets at the No. 4 position in singles to Laura Montalvo by the scores of 2-6, 6-4, 6-2.  The Javelinas took the remaining matches as there were three that were unfinished.

The morning matches for the Lady Panthers saw four games unfinished before the Islanders closed it out with straight wins in each of the single matches.   

In the afternoon match, the Panthers point came from the No. 6 singles match with Rodrigo Yoshikata, who clinched the win over Jonathan Christie 7-6, 6-4.  Xavier Lawrence fell in the No. 1 singles match as he lost in three sets by the scores of 4-6, 6-3, 10-9. 

The remaining Panthers fell in straight sets as the Islanders took the game to earn the victory, with one of the matches not being completed.

In the early game, the Panthers fell 6-0.  At the No. 1 position the Panthers duo of Ulrick Boyogueno and Anirudh Yadav extended the set before falling 7-5 to TAMCC's duo team of brothers Francois and Okkie Kellerman.

The Lady Panthers will return to action Friday, Feb. 16 when they face McNeese in a 2 p.m. match up in Lake Charles, La.  Both Panther teams will face Seminole State in Dallas, Texas on Saturday.  The doubleheader action will begin at 2 p.m.
