LAKE CHARLES, La.- The Prairie View A&M volleyball battled with McNeese Tuesday evening, but was unable to claim the win as the Cowgirls took the 3-0 decision 25-19, 25-13, 25-14 at Memorial Gym.
"We didn't play with urgency tonight," said head PVAMU volleyball coach
TaCho Tyler. "There was not effort offensively or defensively and we can't win games like that. We had two starters out, but that's not an excuse. We have one more non-conference game before we start a string of conference games. We will need to become more focused and prepared from here on out."
In the opening set, PVAMU dropped the 25-19 decision as
Latrice Brown tallied five of her nine kills.
The second set saw the Lady Panthers take an early lead (3-2). The Cowgirls, however put together a 15-7 run to close out the set at 25-13. Brown again paced the Lady Panthers offense with three kills, while
Erica Jimenez dished out four assists and three digs.
In the third set, the Cowgirls opened up a quick 11-6 lead and maintained control to win the match.
The Lady Panthers will wrap up their non-conference play, as they square off with Huston Tillotson Friday in Austin, Texas.
