PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas – The Prairie View A&M University volleyball team will head to Austin, Texas to face Huston Tillotson for a Friday night match at 6 p.m. in the Mary E. Branch Gym.
"We need to come out like they (Huston Tillotson) are a SWAC opponent," said PVAMU head volleyball coach
TaCho Tyler. "At this point, every match now means everything. We have to continue to compete on a high level regardless of who is on the other side of the net. Right now, every win is just one step closer to our goal, which is to win the SWAC. "
The Lady Panthers (3-13) will look to regain their momentum after falling to McNeese Tuesday evening, 3-0. PVAMU played Huston Tillotson earlier in the season falling to the Lady Rams after four sets (22-25, 25-18, 23-25, 20-25).
Huston Tillotson will enter the contest with a 14-2 record, after defeating Texas Lutheran 3-0 also Tuesday evening.
Jaylan Thomas has been the consistent leader on the offensive attack with 130 kills on the year for the Lady Panthers. Thomas also has 104 digs, and six service aces on the season. Setter
Erica Jimenez leads the team with 203 assists, followed by
Joycelyn Nunez with 137. Defensively,
Christen Augustine leads the team with 181 total digs and has a career total of 1,216, making her the leading passer since the 1994-95 season.
