Women's Basketball To Host Defending SWAC Champions Grambling State on MLK Day

 Prairie View A&M women's basketball will return to action on Monday, Jan. 21 on Martin Luther King Day, when they host the Tigers of Grambling State for an opening tip set for 4 p.m.
 
The game is also the Blackout Game and will be videostreamed on pvpanthers.com/women.  
 
PVAMU (6-8, 3-1 SWAC) recently earned its third Southwestern Athletic Conference victory of the season as it handily defeated Jackson State 76-57 Saturday.  In their victory of the Tigers, Prairie View was led by a trio of players including seniors Shala Dobbins, Artravia Ford and junior Ke'Asia Williams.
 
The three-headed monster combined for 44 of PVAMU's 76 points in the win over JSU, while they also notched a combined 15 rebounds.  Dobbins posted a game-high 18 points, while Ford tallied 14 points and seven rebounds.  Williams added 12 points of her own, to go along with seven rebounds.
 
Grambling State (7-10, 4-1 SWAC) is on a two-game win streak with the last win over Texas Southern (75-67), Saturday.  Shakyla Hill posted a triple-double with 19 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists, with Jazman Boyd and Camryn London notching a game high 20 points and 11 points, respectively.
 
Hill has led the Tiger offense on the season, averaging 18.6 points and 7.5 rebounds per game, while Boyd has averaged 12.2 points.
