PINE BLUFF, Ark. - The Prairie View A&M volleyball team finished out their regular season on a high note with a 3-1 Southwestern Athletic Conference win over the University of Arkansas-Pine Bluff Sunday evening at H.O. Clemmons Arena.

The Lady Panthers (15-21, 14-4 SWAC) started off slow in the first set and aside from small pushes, were unable to find a rhythm. The tide turned in the second set, as Prairie View began the frame with a quick 4-0 lead.
UAPB managed to battle back, beginning a stretch that featured eight ties and a litany of lead changes. With the Lions ahead 13-12, junior outside hitter Tamaira Armstrong sparked an 11-4 run that ultimately pushed Prairie View A&M to a match-tying set win.
With Prairie View A&M down 13-7 in the third set, junior middle blocker Victoria Pearson keyed a 10-2 run gave the Lady Panthers a 17-15 lead. UAPB made a late charge, but Armstrong was too much for the Lady Lions down the stretch, putting away three big kills to ensure a 2-1 advantage for the Lady Panthers.
A pair of Pearson blocks helped power an 8-3 start to the fourth set for the Lady Panthers. UAPB clawed back within striking distance at 10-8, but a 6-2 run extended the Prairie View A&M advantage which held strong the rest of the way.
Armstrong led the team with 15 kills, 13 digs and two assists. Pearson followed with 11 kills, two digs, two blocks and one assist. Freshman libero Skyla Childs recorded 17 digs.
