PINE BLUFF, Ark. - The Prairie View A&M volleyball team finished out their regular season on a high note with a 3-1 Southwestern Athletic Conference win over the University of Arkansas-Pine Bluff Sunday evening at H.O. Clemmons Arena.

Set scores were 13-25, 25-19, 25-23, 25-18)

The Lady Panthers (15-21, 14-4 SWAC) started off slow in the first set and aside from small pushes, were unable to find a rhythm. The tide turned in the second set, as Prairie View began the frame with a quick 4-0 lead.

UAPB managed to battle back, beginning a stretch that featured eight ties and a litany of lead changes. With the Lions ahead 13-12, junior outside hitter Tamaira Armstrong sparked an 11-4 run that ultimately pushed Prairie View A&M to a match-tying set win.

UAPB made a late charge, but Armstrong was too much for the Lady Lions down the stretch, putting away three big kills to ensure a 2-1 advantage for the Lady Panthers.

A pair of Pearson blocks helped power an 8-3 start to the fourth set for the Lady Panthers. UAPB clawed back within striking distance at 10-8, but a 6-2 run extended the Prairie View A&M advantage which held strong the rest of the way.
