GREENSBORO, NC. — The Prairie View A&M bowling team claimed fourth place during the first day of the 2019 Stallings Invite hosted by North Caarolina A&T, after going 2-3 on Friday.

"We bowled really well today," Head PVAMU Bowling Coach Glenn White said. "All of our losses are to the three teams that are leading the field right now and we are right below them in fourth. The team performed at a high level all day after the first two games of Match 1."

The Lady Panthers started off with a 1,016-972 loss to 7th-ranked University of Maryland - Eastern Shore. The team also fell 967-918 to 15th-ranked Delaware State.

PVAMU was able to bounce back with a 1,022-952 win over 17th ranked Louisiana Tech, later to face a tough 1,065-983 defeat by host team 8th-ranked North Carolina A&T. Prairie View ended the day with a strong 1,042-835 victory over Texas Southern.

White said the team is competing against strong talent from across the nation, and in order to be successful, we must stay focused.

"We want to come in tomorrow and keep that same intensity and focus," he said. "There are several teams ranked in the top twenty in the country in this tournament and we are right in the thick of things."

The bowling team will continue tournament play on Saturday, Nov. 16.
