Harrison HPER Complex on the campus of Mississippi Valley State

CeTara Carter smoked a pair of kills and junior middle blocker
Victoria Pearson added another to bring the Lady Panthers within two, but sluggish play late allowed the Lady Hornets to pull away for the early advantage.
A back-and-forth affair early in the second frame, the sides were deadlocked at 9-9, Prairie View fell behind 11-10 in the second set. Both teams put together 3-0 spurts, but a 6-2 Alabama State run resulted in a 20-15 deficit for Prairie View A&M, who was unable to recover in hopes of tying the match.
Pearson put away two kills early as the Lady Panthers briefly seized control with a 7-6 lead. However, a 10-2 Alabama State run pushed the score to 16-9. The Lady Panthers responded with a 6-2 run that brought them within three, but the No. 2 seed struggled to keep momentum, as offensive misfires ultimately derailed the Lady Panthers' championship aspirations.
Pearson led the team with eight kills, two blocks and two digs. Junior outside hitter
Tamaira Armstrong and freshman middle blocker
Hannah Estupinan posted six kills each. Carter also contributed with five blocks, four kills and two digs.
