PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas - The Prairie View A&M women's basketball team rolled past Alcorn State 90-61 for the team's final win of the regular season for senior night in the William Nicks Building Saturday evening.

Jordyn Penniman, Sierra Shepard,
Shala Dobbins,
Chelsea Tieuel,
La'Neique Nealey,
Artavia Ford and
Erin Willis were all honored and recognized for their individual achievements after playing in the final regular game of their collegiate careers.
The game opened with a three point shot from junior
Dominique Newman to get the Lady Panthers going as they took a 3-2 lead over Alcorn. A quick 6-0 run led by Ke'Asia Wiliams gave the team a 9-2 lead. Shepard helped to extend the lead after a layup for another 6-0 run giving PVAMU a 15-6 advantage. PV ended the quarter on an 8-0 run going into the second quarter with a 23-9 lead.

Mariah Campbell and Tieuel pushed the score 32-12.
After a made three pointer by freshman
Keaynna Tolbert ended a short dry spell for the Lady Panthers, back-to-back baskets from Nealey put the team up 43-20 over Alcorn at the 3:22 mark. The Lady Panthers went on a 6-2 run to end the half leading 49-24. Ford led the team with 10 points.
Willis got PVAMU started in the second half as the team went on an 8-0 to begin the third quarter for a 57-24 lead. PV went on an 8-2 run, ending on jumper by Campbell giving PVAMU a 69-33 lead with 3:04 reaming in the third quarter. After a made free throw from Ford, a layup from Dobbins pushed the team ahead 74-43.
A three pointer from Tieuel and layup from Ford pushed the team lead to 79-47 with 6:52 left in the game. A quick 4-0 run led by Dobbins gave PV an 83-49 advantage, Willis's made layup allowed the team to take an 87-55 lead with 3:04 remaining in the quarter. Each PVAMU player was able to score closing out PVAMU's regular season with a 90-61 victory.
Ford led the team with 17 points, and four rebounds. Dobbins followed behind with 15 points and three rebounds, while both Cobb and Shepard contributed with eight points apiece.
The Lady Panthers will return to action when they host the first round of the 2019 SWAC Toyota Tournament on the campus of the beautiful Prairie View A&M University. The contest is set to begin at 5:30 as they host Alabama A&M for a third time this year.
