PRAIRIE VIEW – The Prairie View A&M women's basketball (1-1) welcomes Houston Baptist Tuesday afternoon for a home non-conference matchup inside the William J. Nicks Building. Tip-off is set for 2 p.m.

> The Panthers were upended 66-63 by Texas-Rio Grande Valley Dec. 19. During the back-and-forth affair, Kennedy Paul led the Panthers with 13 points. Tabreea Gandy added 11 points, seven rebounds and seven assists, and Diana Rosenthal scored 11 points while hauling in five boards.
> Jasmin Dixon posted a sterling all-around effort with nine points, six rebounds, three steals, two assists and two blocks. Nine different Panthers scored in the contest.
Storylines to Watch:
> Prairie View A&M is 2-0 all-time versus the Huskies, but the teams have not played one another since 2008. In the last meeting between the sides, the Panthers prevailed 69-57.
> Rosenthal is coming off a week where she was named Southwestern Athletic Conference Player of the Week. She currently leads the team in scoring per game (14.0 points) and rebounds per game (7.5) and has scored in double-figures in seven of her past 10 games.
> PVAMU is 6-2 versus Southland teams dating back to the 2015-16 season.
Scouting the Opponent:
> Houston Baptist has opened the season 3-3 and has held opponents to 50 points or less in each of its three victories. However, HBU dropped a 79-76 nail biter to Grand Canyon in its last contest.
> Timia Jefferson is the team's leading scorer at 13.3 points per game. Kennedy Wilson poses the biggest threat from beyond the arc and is the team's top distributor, averaging 9.0 points and 4.3 assists per night while shooting 50 percent from three. In all, the Huskies are a balanced scoring unit, as nine players average 5.0 points per game or better. Houston Baptist has limited opponents to 24.2 percent shooting from beyond the arc.
