BEAUMONT, Texas - The Prairie View A&M men's and women's tennis suffered 4-0 setbacks to Oral Roberts during a neutral-site match at Lamar University Friday afternoon.
On the men's side, the Panthers conceded the early advantage in doubles play, as sophomore
Jorge Juarez Caballero and senior
Xavier Lawrence fell 6-2 and Kevin Ugartche and T. Washington drop a 6-1 match.
In singles play, Lawrence and Ugartche stumbled by identical set scores of 6-2, 6-3, and Washington fell 6-0, 6-1, allowing ORU to clinch the match.
On the women's side, sophomore
Claudia Andrea Islas Medina and freshman
Salma Sanchez Villalobos dropped a 6-3 match as ORU's women took the doubles point.
In singles action, junior
Jimena Duran-Castellanos lost 6-2, 6-2 and junior
Jessica Lackey was upended in a 6-1, 6-3 match.
