PRAIRIE VIEW – Prairie View A&M women's track and field standout Ja'Sha Sloan has qualified for the high jump at the NCAA Division I Indoor Championships with a career best jump of 1.80 meters.

Sloan has put together an exceptional campaign during the indoor portion of the season, as the junior finished first or second in each of her meets.

After opening the year with a then-career best leap of 1.79 meters (5-10.50 feet) on her way to second place at Texas A&M's Ted Nelson Invite, Sloan went on to win at three events, starting with the University of Kansas' Jayhawk Classic with a jump of 1.75 meters.

From there, Sloan continued to assert herself as one of the best high jumpers in the nation, finishing second at the Texas Tech Invitational and at Houston's Howie Ryan Invitational, setting a career mark of 1.80 meters (5-10.75 feet) at the later event.

Sloan went on to win the 2020 Southwestern Athletic Conference Indoor Championship with a 1.75-meter clearance and later earned her place at Nationals with a winning effort during the FasTrack Last Chance Qualifying event.

Ranked No. 14 in the country in the high jump, Sloan will compete March 13-14 in Albuquerque, New Mexico at the Albuquerque Convention Center for the 2020 NCAA Division I Indoor National Championship.
