NEW ORLEANS, La. – The Prairie View A&M women's tennis team had no trouble with Southern, taking down the Jaguars 4-0 in the quarterfinals of the Southwestern Athletic Conference Women's Tennis Championships.
How it Happened:
After winning the No. 3 doubles match by default, . Victoria Fuenmayor Castillo and Mahogani Green wrapped up the doubles point, topping Southern duo Kourtni Stewart and Tanaka Chakanyuka 6-1.
Castillo continued her winning ways, defeating Chakanyuka 6-1, 6-1 in the No. 1 singles match. Green cruised past Nandi Munyulwa 6-1, 6-1 and a win via default for PVAMU's Jessica Lackey punched the Lady Panthers' ticket to the semifinal round.
In other singles action, Ruju Chauhan led Takalani Molaoa 6-1, 4-3 prior to the clinch.
