KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Prairie View A&M bowling team saw its season come to a close during the regional round of the NCAA Women's Bowling Championship Tournament at AMF Pro Bowl Lanes.

The Lady Panthers faltered 2-1 to No. 3 seed North Carolina A&T and 2-0 to Delaware State.

"It is disappointing of course that our season has to come to an end, but I could not be prouder of this team and how they competed this year," PVAMU Head Bowling Coach Glenn White said. "They worked hard all season not only on the lanes but also in the classroom. They showed their discipline and resilience in going through the season COVID-free with not one positive test. They continued to get better during the year from hard work. I salute this team and all they have accomplished this year and we look forward to reaching higher heights next year."

How it Happened:
MATCH 1 (N.C. A&T def. PVAMU 2-1):
The Panthers brought the fight to the No. 3 seeded Aggies, taking the traditional match 1,003-866 to go ahead 1-0. PVAMU was poised to sweep North Carolina A&T during Baker play, holding a 642-570 lead after the first three Baker matches. However, Prairie View A&M faltered down the stretch as the Aggies surged late to steal the win 1,030-1,003, forcing a best-of-seven Baker series.

After winning match one, the Panthers dropped the next two matches. Prairie View A&M would tie it 2-2, but the Aggies pulled away to win the series 4-2 and the Mega Match 2-1.

MATCH 2 (DSU def. PVAMU 2-0): An up and down effort was costly for the Panthers in the traditional game, as Delaware State prevailed 932-to-832. The Panthers were unable to rebound, dropping a heartbreaker by a score of 892-855 during Baker play.

Next Up:
The Panthers' 2020-21 campaign has concluded. Led by All-SWAC performers Crystal Cline, Patricia Rosales, Cheyenne Washington, and Asia Wren, Prairie View A&M projects to return the entirety of a team that won the program's fourth regular season championship in five seasons as well as the 2021 SWAC Women's Bowling Tournament.
