HARAHAN, La. – The Prairie View A&M University bowling team competed in the first day of the Colonial Lanes Classic hosted by Tulane, Friday. The Lady Panthers finished 2-3 through five baker matches.
Prior to today's matches the Lady Panthers took a moment to pose and send out a message to Caidence one of the Lady Panthers softball players.
PVAMU went up against Jackson State in their opening match defeating the Lady Tigers 942-877. Falling to No. 8 ranked Louisiana Tech by a margin of 897-834 and to Southern in their third match 988-896.
The fourth match saw the Lady Panthers take on Alabama A&M picking up their second win of the day by the score of 949-877. They ended the day against No. 7 ranked North Carolina A&T State falling 1044-839.
PVAMU had an overall 11
th place finish out of the 15-team field. North Carolina A&T finished 4-0 with a 5,194-team score and first place finish. UMES also finished for 4-0 with a team score of 5,085 and a second-place finish, followed by
Louisiana Tech (2-2 |5,076), SFA (3-2| 5,001), Sam Houston State (3-2| 4,992), Southern (3-2|4,689), Jackson State (2-2 |4,551), Lincoln Memorial University (3-2 | 4,490), UAB (1-3| 4,467)
PVAMU (2-3 | 4,460). Texas Southern (2-3 | 4,335), Alabama State (1-4 |4,294), FAMU (1-4 | 4,285), and Alabama A&M (2-3 | 4,253 rounded out the teams.
The team will return to the lanes for day two of the Colonial Lanes Classic picking up tomorrow at 9:45 a.m. from Colonial Lanes versus Florida A&M.
