ITTA BENA, Miss. = On a cold dreary day in a small city of Itta Bena two schools met for a final game of the season in the Rice-Totten Stadium on Saturday, Nov. 19. With this game the expectations were not met as the Prairie View A&M football team fell to a 27-7 tune to the Delta Devils of Mississippi Valley State.
The Panthers conclude the regular season with a 6-5 overall record and 5-3 in the conference.
Trazon Connley finished the day 7-for-15 for 82 yards, while rushing for 75 yards. Sophomore
Jaden Stewart finished the day just short of 100 yards rushing (90).
Jamias Presley led the defense with nine tackles 1.0 TFL.
The Panthers opened the game with the first score taking a 7-0 lead with plenty of game left. PVAMU led through half time, before the Delta Devils got on the board with 26-yard field goal.
Mississippi Valley scored again in the bottom half of the third quarter to take a 10-7 lead. Even with an interception by
Logan Jackson the Panthers could not capitalize.
The Delta Devils defense had a pick-six to advance the score to 17-7. Another field goal advanced their score to 20-7. MVSU tacked on a final score to take a 27-7 victory of the Panthers.
