HUNTSVILLE, Texas – In the Prairie View A&M Lady Panthers tennis team first match of the 2023 season measured up well in doubleheader action falling to Sam Houston State 1-4, 2-5.

How it Happened:
SHSU 4, PV 1 Game 1
PVAMU capped their solid showing by getting the single victory from freshman Aleyla Wooten at the No.3 by the score of 6-2, 6-3.
Graduate student Mahogani Green also had a good match finishing in the No. 4 singles by the scores of 2-6, 4-6.

PVAMUSHSU 5, PV 2 Game 2
Prairie View took two of three doubles matches clinching the doubles point.  The doubles No. 1 team of Victoria Castillo and Green won by the score of 6-3.
The doubles No. 2 team of Leslie Gabrielle and Wooten defeated the team of Vianna Schwab | Aaliyah Hohmann of SHSU.
The Lady Panthers No. 6 Salma Villalobos also took the singles point by the scores of 6-1, 6-4.
Prairie View A&M will be up against Texas A&M Corpus Christi on Thursday, January 18 for doubleheader action at 12:30 and 3 p.m. at home.
